Senior PharmAssist and the state Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) regularly co-host Medicare 101 education sessions. These free, two-hour seminars, led by Gary Knutson of NC SHIIP, are held in the theater at the Durham Center for Senior Life. If you are new to Medicare, a caregiver or just want to understand the basics, please join us from 2 to 4 p.m. on one of the following dates:

  • May 24
  • July 12
  • September 13

RSVPs are required. You can reserve your space by emailing or by calling our main clinic line at (919) 688-4772. Parking is adjacent to the Center’s main entrance on Hunt St., and light refreshments are served.

Senior PharmAssist hosts regular meetings of the Durham Medicare Rx Network here at the Durham Center for Senior Life. In addition to our program, this partnership of front-line providers includes staff at the Durham Center, the Department of Social Services, the local Social Security office, Lincoln Community Health Center, discharge planners and social workers at the local hospitals, and others. Our group discusses Medicare topics beyond the basics and Part D.
