Senior PharmAssist hosted a continuing education session for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Durham Center for Senior Life. This training focused on Medicare and Part D drug benefits for 2017 and was worth two C.E. credits via the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists.
The N.C. Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) and Senior PharmAssist hosted a “Medicare 101” seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2-4 p.m., in the theater at the Durham Center for Senior Life, 406 Rigsbee Ave. This free session was designed for individuals and caregivers who would like to learn more about Medicare and provided an overview of the options available.

Senior PharmAssist hosts regular meetings of the Durham Medicare Rx Network here at the Durham Center for Senior Life. In addition to our program, this partnership of front-line providers includes staff at the Durham Center, the Department of Social Services, the local Social Security office, Lincoln Community Health Center, discharge planners and social workers at the local hospitals, and others. Our group discusses Medicare topics beyond the basics and Part D. Our next meeting will be in early 2017.
